Mission Statement

The American dream was explained to us that if we worked hard and went to school the world was ours. I still believe in that dream. I also believe that children should not be held accountable for adults’ decisions.

Due to the current state of affairs in the US, there are students whose school year is being disrupted due to the politics of the country. Some schools have had to close due to local violence, some students have been removed from their parents care, moved across the country, cannot go to school, are in fear of attending school, or have parents who fear dropping their students off at school. These closures impact all students, citizens by birth, Dreamers, and everyone between.

Most of the available low cost or free materials available online are intended as a supplement to learning, not a replacement for in-classroom instruction. Most people are not aware of how to assemble the available resources, what is required by their state or national standards, or even that students can take exams without having to take courses.

I am compiling standards-aligned learning materials free of charge for parents and students. I will start with national standards and higher level courses that parents may struggle with and work my way backwards by grade level. Whenever possible I will use free materials or those licensed under the creative commons. I will write materials for content I am familiar with if necessary. I will link resources that are behind a paywall ONLY if I, or my colleagues, think the value of the resource is higher than any freely available materials we could find or we have not yet been able to develop those courses ourselves

There will be no data collected by me. This means no log in which means no progress tracking. Students will have to check their own answers to the questions or parents can use the materials to set up quizzes. This does not mean that your browser or the hosting site are free of cookies or tracking data.
