Hello and Welcome!

I am Sarah Maestrales, Ph.D. a Solutions Strategist and Research Consultant. I specialize in the creative application of statistical models. I measure outcomes through instrument development (surveys and learning assessment) and subsequent data analyses. I help people figure out what they can do with the data they already have and what data they need to collect to measure the outcomes they want to study.

One of the most creative applications is in quantifying success when applying automation through AI and ML. Or to put it bluntly, identifying when your AI expenditures are higher than they need to be.

Can I help you cut costs and reduce your carbon footprint? Absolutely. If you have strong data collection, you can replace a significant proportion of your of API calls to LLMs with simple statistics or automation. I would say depending on what you are using AI to do you could reduce your API calls by up to 95%.

this is actually my personal page for my travel blog and psychometric rants, but you can take a look at my professional services here if you have a good sense of humor.

As a quantitative analyst, I prefer more a more factual and evidenced based approach to AI and its implementation. What is is good at, how can it be used today, and where to approach with caution.

You can see my findings, professional musings, and output evaluations here in my Quantitative Ramblings.

EdTech

As I compile course materials, I will be reviewing the content of various sites and apps both free and subscription based. If you are interested in unsponsored reviews of learning materials and apps, you can find them on the Unsponsored Reviews page.

Standards Aligned Course Materials – Very Much a Work in Progress

This is a slow go, I am working my way through compiling standards aligned curriculum using only free materials that do not require a login in. Also including info about CBE exams and testing centers.

If you are an educator willing to provide a list of free videos and/or reading materials that align to your state’s course standards, please Contact me.

I will give appropriate credit to any contributors and add your tutoring side-hustles to my tutors page.

I do accept monetary donations to help cover the costs of site maintenance, but I prefer time donations.
